Exercising with a Disability
Exercising regularly offers many health benefits, especially for people with mobility issues. For one thing, such an activity will surely improve one’s walking ability.
However, can we possibly say the same thing for a physically disabled individual? Well, why should not we? In fact, it is just as important that such a person performs regular exercises to make sure that his body is kept active and not lax. Moreover, physical activity can also help him keep up a positive attitude despite his condition because exercise is known to release “feel-good” chemicals within the body.
Even if a person is physically disabled, he is still capable of executing simple and uncomplicated exercise routines that will not bring too much toll upon his constitution. For instance, simple stretching and range of motion exercises can already keep him in a relatively healthy condition. If a person with physical disabilities wants to exercise, he should get the approval of his physician first to avoid risks and complications.
